Как и во многих банках семян по всему миру, история Serious Seeds начаналась с одного человека и путешествий, в Serious Seeds этим человеком был Simon.
Основатель Serious Seeds Simon не был курильщиком. Однако, в 1986 году во время поездки в Африку, он попробовал марихуану и полюбил ее. На протяжении почти десятилетия Simon выращивал коноплю для личного пользования экспериментируя со своим любимым сортами на свой вкус.
Однако, все больше людей стали пробовать его продукт и он не заметил как сменил профессию с учителя старших классов до бридера в Sensi Seeds. После года работы в популярном банке семян Simon решил начать свой собственный бизнес и в 1995 появился Serious Seeds. Успех не заставил себя долго ждать и начался он с победы в Cannabis Cup в номинации самая активная компания. Год спустя они взяли еще один кубок за сорт White Russian.
